Terry Eugene Rakestraw

Terry Eugene Rakestraw, 71, of Slaughters, passed away at his home on Monday, December 29, 2014. 

He was a retired Educator, he had taught in the Webster County School System for 27 years. He was past Chairman and Supervisor for the Webster Co. Soil Conservation District, where he currently still served on the board. He was also a FFA Alumni Member, and was a member of the Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He is the son of the late Powell Davis Sr. and Mary Frank Rakestraw. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Faye Rakestraw. 

Survivors include his daughter Kimberly Saalwaechter and her husband, Scott of Slaughters; one son N. Alan Rakestraw, DVM and his wife, Anne of Robards; two sisters, Sandra Olson and her husband, Mike of Slaughters, and Ann Liggett and her husband, David of Dixon; one  brother Powell Rakestraw Jr. and his wife, Marcia of Slaughters; three grandchildren, Thomas Alan, Tristen James and Karson Eugene; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Harry Baldwin and the Rev. Steve Dame officiating. 

Burial was in Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Slaughters.

Visitation was from 2-8pm on Thursday and from 8am until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
