Naomi S. Harkins


Naomi S. Harkins
Naomi S. Harkins, 83, of Owensboro, formerly of Hartford, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Wellington Parc of Owensboro. She was born October 27, 1931 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late William Elzie Sanson and Mable Marchman Sanson. 
Mrs. Harkins was a homemaker, member of Hartford Baptist Church and a former member of Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by one brother, J.T. Sanson and one sister, Stella Mae Sanson.  
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Douglas “Doug” Harkins of Owensboro; one son, Keith Harkins, of White Lake, MI; one daughter, Dr. Gay Baughman (David) of Louisville; one grandson, Joshua David “Josh” Baughman of Louisville. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky with Bro. Ed Mitchell and Rev. Wesley O. Hanson officiating. 
Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. 
Visitation was Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. 
The family request expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Gideons International P.O. Box 401, Hartford, KY 42347.

Elvin Bryant Gray, 83, of Clay, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He is survived by one daughter, Martha Gamblin of Madisonville; one son, Tommy Lovelace of Clay; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 and from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay.

Eleno Herrera, 82, of Georgetown, TX, formerly of Webster County, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock, TX.
He is survived by six daughters, Elena Guzman of Georgetown, TX, Teresa Herrera of Grand Junction, MI, Carol Knight of Nebo, Elizabeth Orcutt of Providence, Mary Herrera of Pullman, MI, and Amy Bowen of Grand Junction, MI; three sons, Michael Herrera of Georgetown, TX, Steven Herrera of Holland, MI and Mark Herrera of Providence; two brothers, Frank Herrera and Juan Herrera, Jr. both of Brownfield, TX; 28 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Providence with Father Bruce Fogle officiating.
Burial was in Nebo Cemetery.

Ivy Dell Waddell, 82, of Providence, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
She is survived by five sons, Paul Waddell, Bobby Waddell, Phillip Michael Waddell, Timmy Waddell; one daughter, Glenda Lawless; two brothers, Henry Alexander and Frank Alexander; one sister, Wilma Rogers; several great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Friday, March 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Providence.
Burial was in Pythion Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.

Richard Wayne Crews, 43, of Robards, formerly of Nebo, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Amber Crews; his mother, Elizabeth Crews of Earlington; three sons, Zackery Morris of Shreveport, LA, Coty Hefner of Corydon and Donovan Hefner of Cairo; two brothers, Ronnie Lynn of E. Alton, IL, James Hamby of Providence; four sisters, Faye Conner of Gulf Shores, AL, Jane Brown of Henderson, Brenda Laffoon of Dawson Springs and Jessica Nichols of Marion; two granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Marable Temple in Providence.
Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon was in charge of the arrangements.

Janice Roberta Phillips, 76, of Providence, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
She is survived by two sons, Ricki Phillips and Jeff Phillips; one daughter, Kelley Cullen; one brother, John Devine; two sisters, Sharlet and Debbie Posey; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Monday, March 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Providence.

He is survived by his wife of nine years, Christy Felker; one son, Steven Ray Felker of Dawson Springs; step-mother, Betty Felker of Clay; two step-daughters, Amanda Perkins of Clay and Kristi Mabrey of Wheatcroft; three brothers, Robert Felker of Clay, Tony Felker and Darrell Felker both of Providence; one sister, Candy Gibson of Clay; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Rowland Cemetery in Flatrock with Bro. Johnnie Davis officiating. Military rites will be performed.

Martha Lucille Whitledge


Martha Lucille Whitledge
Martha Lucille Whitledge, 93, of Canon City, passed away March 20, 2015.  She was born in Union County on January 14, 1922, to Charles and Mary (Blue) Cartwright.  She married Quintin Whitledge in Henderson, KY on April 16, 1942.
Lucille is survived by her husband of 72 years and by her son, Donald, of Penrose.  During her husband’s military career of 20 years, she accompanied him to various assignments in the United States, Japan, and Hawaii.
There will be no visitation.  Graveside service, with burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Mountain Vale Memorial Park, with Pastor Roy Marta officiating.  Immediately following burial, a reception will be held at Lifeway Baptist Church, 1007 Elm Ave.  
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lifeway Baptist Church.

Jerry Wayne Felker, 61, of Providence, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

James “Jim” Legere
James “Jim” Legere 69, of Clay, KY passed away at home on March 16, 2015. He retired after 35 years of working at Alcan Aluminum in Sebree, KY. He attended Christian Worship Center in Providence. He loved his grandchildren, fishing and raising his chickens. 
He was preceded in death by a son C.R. Lamb, one sister Betsy Lemon and one brother Don Legere. 
Survivors include his wife of 27 years Sharon Legere of Clay; one daughter Allison Legere Cochran of Princeton; four sons, Scott Legere, Brent Lamb and his wife Kim of Princeton, Jeff Lamb and his wife Tyla of Providence, and Jeramy Lamb and his wife Kim of Morganfield; six grandchildren, Kyle, Blake, Noah, Lexi, Levi, and Jayden; two nieces. 
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev Gary Dock and the Rev. Terry Rhye officiating. 
Burial will be in Lisman Cemetery. 
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Roger Dail Shoulders, 66, of Clay, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Shoulders of Clay; two daughters, Kelly Yates and Wendy Clayton both of Dixon; one son, Jan Shoulders of Clay; five grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1 p.m. Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Bro. Paul Stone officiating.
Burial was in New Clay Cemetery in Clay.

William Earl Woodring, Jr., 29, of Clay, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Jewish Downtown in Louisville.
He is survived by his parents, William Earl, Sr. and Nina Mae McVay; one son, Robert Brayden; two daughters, Alexis Grace and Madelynn Mae; one sister, April Foster of Dixon; his grandparents, Larry and Mary Woodring and James O. McVay and the late, Mary McVay.
Services were conducted Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home.
Burial was in Green Grove Cemetery in Providence.

Kimberlee Jan Villines
Kim Villines 58, of St. Louis, Missouri, formally of Providence passed away Wednesday March 4, 2015 peacefully at home.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Kim worked as a nurse for many years in several different cities, Madisonville, Paducah, Tulsa, and Sarasota.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Rice Villines, mother, Bernice Taylor Villines and sister Marlene Ann Villines all formally of Providence.
Survivors include her husband John O’Malley of St. Louis; one brother Van Villines of St. Louis and sister-in-law Debbie Capps Villines; other beloved family include three nieces, Vanessa Villines Mattingly, Valerie Villines, Winter Villines Schneider and nephew, Vance Rice Villines,  great nieces, Ava, Olivia, Lilah and Willow and great nephews, Jack, Blake and Myles all of St Louis.
Kim is an organ donor so therefore funeral services are pending.
Kim will be buried alongside her father Melvin, mother Bernice and sister Marlene in the Shady Grove Cemetery which is near Bernice’s Taylor Villines Family P.R. & Edith Taylor.
