Lawson Edmond Felker, 93 of Princeton, passed away Monday, May 25th at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation in Princeton. 
Mr. Felker was a member of Quinn Baptist Church for over 50 years.
His wife Elsena Felker preceded him in death.
Their two daughters, Barbara (Gary) Gray of Princeton, and Kay (Stephen) Young of Princeton, survive him; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive him, Christopher (Jodi) Gray of Mt. Eden, Kentucky, Samuel Edmond (Christen) Gray of Princeton, Colby Young of Paducah, and Nicholas Young of Nashville, TN.   
Christopher Lawson Gray of Princeton, Kentucky, and step-great grandsons, Alec Vinson of Princeton, and Jon Knox of Lexington, Kentucky.
Funeral service for Lawson Edmond Felker will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Melton Funeral Home in Providence with Bro. Rodger Felker officiating. 
Visitation will be beginning Thursday at 9 p.m. until the service time. 
Interment will take place directly after the service in Liberty Cemetery in Princeton.

Phillip R. “Phil” Posey, Sr., 59, of White Plains, formerly of Providence, died  Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Devine Posey; two sons, Phillip Posey, Jr. of Madisonville and Chris Posey of Nortonville; one sister, Kyla Fleming Dunn of Vestavia, AL; four brothers, Ralph Posey of Odenville, AL, Robert Allen Posey of Chambersburg, PA, Mike Posey of Gulf Shores, AL, and Tom Fleming of Henderson; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Shane Tucker and the Rev. Danny Nelson officiating.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Johnson Island Cemetery in Hopkins County.

Naomi Sue Pharris, 81, of Sebree, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Colonial Terrace in Sebree.
She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Pharris; two children; Andrea Beth Sizemore of Madisonville and Danny Spears of Alexandria, VA; one brother, Robert Daniels of Morganfield; one sister, Cindy Rich of White Plains; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Wendesday, May 27, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel with Bro. Lawrence Richardson officiating.
Visitation will from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Burial was in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree.

William Calvin Ray, Jr. (Bill)
William Calvin Ray, Jr. (Bill), 63 of Slaughters, passed away on May 23, 2015 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s ballgames.  He also enjoyed spending time with neighbors and was always eager to entertain them with a joke or a song.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Alice Louise Ray, his father, William Calvin Ray, Sr. and one brother Richard Hill.
He is survived his wife Vickie Ray; two sons, Rob Ray and his wife Brandy, Brad Ray and his wife Mesha; one daughter, Ginger Ranes and her husband Kevin; six grandchildren, Mason Ray, Spencer Ray, Addison Ray, Seth Ranes, Raygan Ranes and Laci Jo Ray; three sisters, Katherine Stroud, Mary Shanks, and Shirley Kendall, one brother Lloyd Hill.
Graveside services will be Wednesday the May 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Providence with Pastor Ron Hendricks officiating.

Rubye Nixie Powell
Rubye Nixie Powell, died on May 25, 2015, at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center, Henderson.  She was 95 years old.
 Nixie was born January 21, 1920, in Roaring Springs, daughter to James Garfield Ledford and Henrietta Moorefield Ledford.
She graduated, with a teaching degree, from Murray State University in 1941.
Upon moving to Sebree to teach at Sebree High School, Nixie met and married J.R. Powell.
Nixie was a true partner to J.R., not only in marriage, but also in the family businesses, Powell Farms, Powell Lumber Company, and J.R. Powell Oil and Gas. In an industry still dominated by men, she and J.R. were pioneers in the oil industry, drilling and producing prolific oil reserves, locally and across the Illinois basin. She continued to be very active in this business, until recently, when her health no longer permitted it.
Nixie attended the Sebree First Baptist Church and made many thoughtful and generous contributions to the community, church, and family throughout the years.
 She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, J. R. Powell, a son, James Robert Powell, a granddaughter, Gay Lynne Powell, and a grandson, John Richard Warren.
 Nixie is survived by a son William Smith (Bill) Powell and his wife Joyce Powell of Sebree, and a daughter, Jane Powell Warren and her husband George of Sebree. Six grandchildren: Suzanne Pendleton and her husband Gene of Sebree; Paula Connell and her husband Don of Paducah; Jim Powell and his wife Tina of Sebree; Scott Powell and his wife Debbie of Paducah; Emery Warren of Sebree; and, Elizabeth Warren Eblen and her husband Ryan of Louisville. Great grandchildren include: Kelly Devilder and her husband Nick of Waterloo, IL; Marcus Powell of Houston, TX; Abby Powell of Lexington; Seth Powell of Lexington; Robert Pendleton of Henderson; Jeff Pendleton of Danville, KY; Amanda Davis and her husband Jeremy of Simpsonville, KY; Reiss Bright and his wife Kelly of Louisville; Evan Bright of Los Angeles, CA; and, Ellery, Jacqueline, and Jenkins Eblen of Louisville. A great-great grandson, Tyler Devilder of Waterloo, IL; great-great granddaughter, Estelle Bright of Louisville; and, nieces, Judy Ledford and Nita Scott, also survive her.
Pallbearers will be Nixie’s grandsons and great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Sebree. Friends may visit with the family at the Church from 11 a.m until the time of service at 1 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 S. Green Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420 or to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 156, Sebree, Kentucky 42455.

Kathleen S. Blankenship, 93, of Evansville, IN, formlery of Dixon, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Good Samaritan Home in Evansville, IN. 
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Blankenship; one son, Davie Hakanson of Niceville, FL; two step-sons, Darrell Blankenship of Evansville, IN and Keith Blankenship of Mt. Vernon, IN; one daughter, Cindy Spark of Lexington; one step-daughter, Mariann Stock of Evansville, IN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Mark Sirnic officiating.

Bessie Jane Trent, 67, of Clay died on Thursday May 21, 2015 at Baptist Health of Madisonville.
Mrs. Trent was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Michael LaPradd of Terre Haute, IN, David Harris of Clay; one daughter, Hazel Brasher of Clay; seven siblings, Betty Tingle, Homer Skimehorn, Alan Skimehorn, Adrian Skimehorn, Barbara Kay Knight, Bonnie Alfred, Lynn Parrish; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Brasher and a half-sister, Wanda Skimehorn. Her parents were Adrian Skimehorn and Lillian Stevens.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Dwight Eugene Bivins

Dwight Eugene Bivins, 69, of Clay, died  Friday, May 15, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He is survived by one daughter, Rebekah Grimes of Madisonville; three sons, Franklin Bivins of Clay, Dwight Eugene Bivins, Jr. of Henderson and Bryan Keith Bivins of Sturgis; several granchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted Monday, May 18, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Masonic Rites at noon at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay.
Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay.

David Rednour

David Rednour, 77, of Hanson, passed away, Friday, May 15, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Rednour was born May 9, 1938 in Evansville, IN, to the late Thomas Gordon Rednour and Edna Annie Beach Rednour. He was also preceded in death by one son, Ricky David Rednour; his first wife, Sharon Jean Gibson Rednour; one brother, W.G. Rednour; and two sisters, Ruth Turner and Ann Allen.
He worked as a coal miner at Peabody Camp 2. He was a member of Calvary Temple Community Church and the Masonic Lodge of Slaughters #347 FA&M. Mr. Rednour was known by all his friends as the lawnmower man.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Rednour; one daughter, Lisa (Mike) Brown of Hanson; three step-sons, George (Diana “Sissy” Paulsen) Durham of Madisonville, Danny Durham of Evansville, and Dean (Melissa) Durham of Madisonville; seven grandchildren, Cameron (Leslie) Brown, Chase Brown, Allie Garrett, Steven Durham, Jonathan Durham, Tara Frost, and Logan Oldham; and one great grandchild, Lucas David Brown.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday May 18, 2015 at Barnett Strother Funeral Home, with Bro. Bill Crabtree and Dean Durham officiating.  Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery.
Visitation was from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Masonic service was held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday.
Pallbearers were Cameron Brown, Chase Brown, George Durham, Jim Fowler, Wayne Wells, and Greg Brasher. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Jones and Jerome Lecornu.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Raymond May (Fuzzy), 68, of Providence, died  Monday, May 18, 2015 at Shemwell Healthcare in Providence.
He is survived by his wife Joyce May; one son, Doug May; two daughters, Leslie May Obryan and Lisa May Baldwin; one brother, Steve May; three sisters, Betty Payton, Hazel Hopper and Kathleen Downey; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Jones and Kirby Funeral Home in Providence.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Providence.

Edna Jewell Braden Vailes, 84, of Clay, died  Monday, May 18, 2015 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Vailes; one daughter, Teresa Greslik of Johnsburg, IL; one sister, Jo Ann Miller of Clay; one brother, Tom Braden of Cap Canaveral, FL; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Services will be conducted Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Bro. James Taylor officiating at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Clay Cemetery.

James E. David, 72 of Providence, passed away Wednesday, May 13 at Baptist Health Madisonville.
Mr. David was a retired Whirlpool employee and United States Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Doris David and their children and grandchildren:Debbie Ruth Pingleton, Michael (Ashleigh) Pingleton of Madisonville, Terry Dailey (Don) and their sons Justin and Travis of Clarksville, TN, Derek (Jennifer) David and their children, Taylor and James of Providence, Debbie Sue Mercer and daughter, Brittany of Evansville, Indiana; one brother, Hubert (Betsy) David of Dixon, and his sister, Clara Jean (Jimmy) Oakley of Providence.

Cosby Lee Shelton 59, of Clay, formerly of Henderson, died in Henderson, on Monday May 11, 2015.
He worked as an Equipment Operator for Crop Production Services in Clay. He was a talented musician and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family, especially his best buddy and granddaughter Maddie.
He was preceded by his dad James D. Shelton.
He is survived by his mother, June Shelton of Henderson; his daughter Angie Kirby of Evansville, IN; his son Mike Shelton and his wife Jessica of Dixon; his former wife Carla Shelton of Owensboro; four sisters, Wanda Graham and her husband Robert of Smyrna, TN, Lola Gatewood and Barbara Dunn and her husband Gary both of Henderson, and Judy Wilson of Smith Mills; two brothers Cecil Shelton and Brian Shelton and his wife Sheila both of Henderson; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Lee Bell Owen, 89, of Henderson formerly of Dixon, died  Monday,  May 4, 2015 at her son’s home in Henderson.
She is survived by two sons, Darrell Owen of Henderson and Gerald W. Owen of Dixon; two sisters, Naomi Snyder of Cairo and Wanda Stewart of Henderson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Rich Martindaly officiating.
Friends may visit from noon until service time at the funeral home.

Scott Dunbar, 57, of Providence, died  Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Polly Dunbar; two sons, Clay Dunbar of Providence and Steven Dunbar of Dixon; his parents, Jerry and Sue Dunbar of Dixon; one brother, Brad Dunbar of Providence; one granddaughter, Lily Kate Dunbar; two nephews and one niece.
Services were conducted Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon.
Visitation is from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Dixon.

James Wayne Lyon, 8-day old, of Robards, died  Friday, May 1, 2015 at Nortons Childrens Hospital in Louisville.
He is survived by his parents, Andrew Scott Blackwell and Mikayla Elizabeth Lyon of Robards; grandparents, Rachel and Stephen Blackwell of Corydon, Robby and Beth Pirtle of Henderson; great-grandmothers, Elaine Sparks of Robards and Connie Hayes of Henderson and Florida Whiteman of Providence; great-grandfather, Thomas Pirtle of Henderson.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree with Bro. Ernie Lingerfelt officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the cemetery.

Lester Curtis

Lester Curtis 82, of Evansville, IN, passed away at his residence on the evening of May 2, 2015.
He is survived by his brother, Dillard Curtis Jr. of Marion, Kentucky and thirty nieces and nephews.
His parents, Mattie and John Dillard Curtis and seven siblings preceded Mr. Curtis in death.
He was a retired employee of Whirlpool after forty years of employment and a decorated Korean War Veteran receiving a Bronze Star with three clusters for bravery.
Mr. Curtis greatly enjoyed horseracing, bowling, fishing, and spending time with family.
Funeral service for Mr. Curtis will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday May 6 at Melton Funeral Home in Providence.
Visitation was held at Melton Funeral Home Tuesday, May 5 for friends and family from 5-8 p.m.
Internment will take place on a later date in Big Hill Cemetery in Providence.

Dencial Ray James 64, of Grand Rivers, formerly of Sturgis died Sunday, May 3, 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Glenda James of Grand Rivers; four daughters, Kathy Brewer and Sonja Lawson both of Grand Rivers, Rhonda James of Sturgis, and Jeana Townsend of Dixon; two sons Richie Watkins of Grand Rivers, and Danny James of Manitou; two sisters, Birdie Pierson of Sturgis, and Ruby Jennings of Nancy; two brothers, Junior Cecil James and Richard James both of Beulah; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday May 7, 2015 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon.
Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Fredonia, KY.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Billy Wayne Hopper, 78, of Providence died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Hazel Hopper; two step-daughters, Sandra Robinson and Cindy Brooks of Clay; one step-son, Donald Tudor of Clay; several step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday May 11, 2015 at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with the Rev. Rick Oakley officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Clay.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 10 and from 8 a.m. until service time on Monday, May 11 at the funeral home.
