Samuel Wayne Hite, a lifelong resident of Morganfield, died on Jan 2 in Morganfield, a day before his 45th birthday.
Sam was born on Jan. 3, 1970, in Henderson. He was a 1988 graduate of Union County High School who also studied at Western Kentucky University. Sam was a former owner of Sam’s Una Pizza in Morganfield. A Kentucky Colonel, Sam was passionate about his UK Wildcats and enjoyed the outdoors, boating and motorcycle riding.
Sam is survived by his mother Patsy Zettler Hite; one daughter, Shelby Hite; one son, Samuel, and his girlfriend Tori Clements, all of Morganfield.
He is preceded in death by his father Ronnie Hite of Morganfield; his grandparents, Sam T. and Eudena Hite of Morganfield, Ruby and Layson Swann of Dixon, and Polk Adam Zettler, of Dixon; his aunt, Virginia White of Morganfield; and uncles Lonnie Clark of Dixon and Tommy Zettler of Golden, MS.
The visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, with the funeral service being at 1 p.m., at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Fr. Freddie Byrd officiated.  The interment was at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson. Pallbearers were Neal George of Fulton, MS, Greg Strum of Morganfield; Brandon “Hollywood” Sheffer of Somerset, Brad Wildman of Dixon; Jeff Bradford of Morganfield; and Daniel O’Nan of Morganfield. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Shoulders of Henderson and Alan Shaffer of Atlanta.
The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
