Norma Ann Cole Conrad, 77, Clay, died peacefully at 5:21p.m., January 2, 2015 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, surrounded by her family.

Norma was born in Providence, Kentucky on July 15, 1937, to Guy Clifford and Amanda Katherine Cole.  She joined the Providence General Baptist Church on August 17, 1947, when she was baptized by the Rev. C.W. Duffer. Norma was a dedicated servant of the Lord and an active member of the church for 67 years.  She was Home Missions chairman for many years, sending bulletins to those unable to attend church and assisted with preparation of Thursday meals for those in need.  She sang in the choir, served as a greeter, and was active in the Audrey Sigler Society, as well as the Ladies Visionary Committee of the church.  Norma rarely missed church or Sunday school and was always warm and gracious with everyone.  She was particularly proud when her family, especially the children, attended church services with her.

Norma was a long-time employee of the plastic factory in Providence, working for various owners as a quality control inspector for 36 years.  However, the church and her family always remained her highest priorities.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by a son, Forrest A. Conrad, Jr.  

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Forrest A. “Red” Conrad of Clay; her daughter, Dr. Angela (Danny) Wooton of Henderson; her son, David (Debbie) Conrad of Norris City, IL; three grandchildren: Kyle Wooton of Evansville, Kassie Wooton of St. Louis, and Amanda Rister of Norris City, IL; and four great grandchildren: Jonica, Cypress, Townes, and Veronica Wooton of Evansville.

Melton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, at the Providence General Baptist Church. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 5, at the church.  Interment was at Big Hill Cemetery in Providence. 

Norma asked that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the Providence General Baptist Church building fund or St. Anthony’s Hospice.                              paid
