Larry Dale Light

Larry Dale Light, 69, of Dixon, KY passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

He was of Baptist faith and was a member of Garten Baptist Church in West Virginia.

He worked as a mine construction superintendent for various construction companies.

He is preceded in death by his father William Henry Light in 1971 his mother Isabel Henly Light in 1996 and his daughter Angela Dawn Light in 2004.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of 28 years of Dixon; three sons Larry Dale Light, Jr. and Jason Parker both of Madisonville, and Jeremy Parker and his wife Miranda of Dixon; one daughter Laurie Phillips and her husband Dave of Dixon; two sisters Ruth Vegh of Ravenwood, WV and Helen Bryant of Fayetteville, WV; five brothers Charles “Don” Light McHerrin, VA, Thomas Light of Fayetteville, WV, George Light of Greensboro, NC, Ronald Light of Nottaway, VA and Jack Light of Manson, VA;  brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dale and Susan Darnell of Dixon; seven grandchildren Emily Darnell, Cody Phillips, Dalton Phillips, Shay Phillips, Brynn Melton, Garrett Blevins and Colton Blevins.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Bro. Earl Reeves officiating.  Burial was in New Clay Cemetery in Clay.  

Visitation was Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 9 a.m. Sunday morning til service time at the funeral home.
