Homer Brown, Jr.
Homer Brown, Jr., 88, of Lisman, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Cypress Grove in Newburgh, IN.
He has worked as an electrician and worked at Earl C. Clement Job Corp. in Morganfield and was of Christian faith. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the Douth Pacific, Phillipines and Japan. He was a member of the Dixon Masonic Lodge #911, where he served has past Master. He was also a past member of the Scottish Rite in Madisonille. He was a member of the VGW Post #5484 in Providence and had served as past Commander, also a member of the order of the Eastern Star Ermine Ford #9 in Poole.
He love gardening and selling his vegetables from his garden.
He was preceded in death by his father, Home Brown, Sr. and his mother, Oma Leah Winters, a sister,  Barbara Schoenheit.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Emma Hill Brown; his step-mother, June Brown of Providence; one daughter, Rita Childers and her husband, Duane of Lisman; two sons, Jim Brown and his wife, Kim of Henderson and Thomas Davenport and his wife, Sherry of Kuttawa; three sisters, Nancy Brown of Henderson, Jennifer Main of Louisville and Ruthie Winebarger of Providence; six brothers, Gary Don Brown of Louisville, Ricky Main, Chris Brown, Robert Brown and Joe Brown all of Dixon, and Homer Main of Clay; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. David Parker officiating.   
Burial was in Slover Cemetery in Dixon.
Masonic services were conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and military services were conducted graveside by the VFW Post #5484 of Providence.
